Continuing the pipeline from Charlie Weis’ native New Jersey, Williams committed to Notre Dame on May 2, choosing the Irish over the likes of Maryland, Penn State, Rutgers and Virginia. He’s considered a viable option at both defensive end and nose tackle.
Williams registered 94 tackles and nine sacks through the first nine games of the year for the Minutemen, who were eliminated from the state playoffs in the first round but finished the season with a 6-4 record after earning a 39-24 Thanksgiving Day victory against Scotch Plains-Farmwood. In his junior season, Williams recorded 106 tackles and six sacks.
