Like Fauria, Fleming gave the Irish a verbal commitment during his Blue-Gold Game visit in April. He earned first-team honors at the Army All-American Combine last January, and he’ll return to the Alamodome for the All-American Bowl this winter.
Fleming led St. Rita to a state championship as a junior, and notched 12 sacks and more than 75 tackles this season for the Mustangs (10-4), who were eliminated in the second round of the state playoffs but have since claimed the Prep Bowl city championship with a run of three wins (St. Rita topped Public League champ Morgan Park, 31-7, in the Nov. 24 final). In his junior season, Fleming recorded 105 tackles, 15 TFL, and nine sacks.
