After catching 64 passes for 1,475 yards during his sophomore and junior seasons (23 yards per catch), Goodman – who committed to Notre Dame on March 4 – moved to quarterback, where he passed for 1,697 yards and 16 touchdowns while being intercepted just twice. He also rushed for 525 yards and four scores and caught seven passes for 199 yards (28.8 average) and three more TDs, helping Dwenger to 13 straight wins before the Saints fell in the Class 4A state semifinals.
Goodman averaged 11.8 yards per touch over his three-year varsity career, notching almost 30 yards per kickoff return – and he also doubled as the team’s punter, averaging 34.9 yards per kick. In January, he’ll join several of his classmates at the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
