Floyd, like Filer, got a first-day offer from the Irish, and though his original plan was to wait until after the New Year to commit, the receiver verballed during his official visit for the USC game in October. He will become the fifth Cretin-Derham Hall player to sign with Notre Dame in the last decade, joining Rashon Powers-Neal, Marcus Freeman, Ryan Harris and recent transfer Matt Carufel.
Another Army All-American, Floyd caught 51 passes for 1,096 yards (more than 21 yards per catch) and 16 touchdowns, adding 419 yards rushing, as the Raiders cruised through their first 13 games this season before falling to nationally-ranked Eden Prairie, 50-21, in the Class AAAAA state championship game Nov. 23. In his junior season, Floyd had 63 receptions for 1,240 yards and 16 touchdowns. He carries a 3.2 GPA.
