Motivation.
Let's be honest, that's all it should take to beat Hawaii.
Quotes (either in or out of context, doesn't matter) after the Syracuse game had me a little discouraged about what goes on in that locker room.
Senior Day. A chance to go to a legit bowl game. A chance at a guaranteed winning season. Head coach's job potentially on the line.
What was Weis' speech before the game? What did he say that sucked the energy out of the room?
I watch games on television and I really, really wish Corwin Brown was our head coach. Just watching him jump around and yelling and screaming makes me want to start going to 6 am workouts.
His energy is literally infectuous and I wish he could expose the offense to that kind of disease.
After the Syracuse and USC games the players had to answer questions about Weis' future. They explained how Charlie hasn't lost the locker room. But from what we see on the field, he's not winning games in the locker room either.
What happened to "Crank me up"? Did Charlie nix it or was it just a ridiculously short-lived fad?
What happened to the Charlie we saw during the Monsoon Michigan game? You know, where the guy refused to leave the sidelines despite eight inches of rain and multiple ligament tears?
Where is the New Jersey attitude that he pretends to have? When I was in school, all it would take to motivate one of my Jersey friends was a meatball sandwich.
Hawaii is notorious for motivation. They have the haka, which is a Polynesian war chant/dance made popular by the New Zealand All Blacks rugby squad.
If that video doesn't get your blood flowing, then maybe you should watch more PBS.
I'm not saying Notre Dame needs a haka or any gimmick to get motivated, but they need to find something.
Notre Dame is going to get Hawaii's best effort in three weeks.
